Specialist Crafts Decorating Slips are ready-prepared coloured ceramic slips for decorating pottery and clay work before firing. Suitable for brush application or slip trailing, they allow students to explore surface decoration, pattern, line and colour on greenware.
Apply directly to unfired clay using a brush or slip trailer to create painted designs, decorative line work and layered surface effects. Available in individual 500ml bottles or an assorted set of six colours, these slips are suitable for classroom ceramics, pottery workshops and creative experimentation.
With a firing range of 1060–1150°C, the decorating slips produce a matt finish that remains porous after firing. To seal the surface and enhance the colours, apply a compatible transparent glaze and kiln fire again.
